Issue d’une famille d’intellectuels, de voyageurs et d’amoureux de la beauté, Michela Bruni Reichlin a vécu dans de nombreux pays et au contact de cultures diverses. Cette éducation multiculturelle a fait d’elle une personne curieuse, aux goûts à la fois orientaux et occidentaux, amoureuse des beaux objets et de l’artisanat bien fait.
Vos bijoux ont beaucoup de succès auprès des femmes monégasques. Comment vous êtes-vous fait connaître ?
"J’ai vraiment beaucoup de clients à Monaco que j’ai acquis au fil des ans parce que je vais à Monte-Carlo en vacances depuis des années. J’ai toujours organisé des événements chez moi, car j’ai une belle maison bien située. J’organise donc depuis de nombreuses années des événements privés, des apéritifs, où j’invite mes clients monégasques et aussi quelques clients italiens qui sont là en vacances. Ces mini-événements privés sont très appréciés par mes clients. Le goût des femmes de Monte-Carlo est très semblable à celui des Milanaises et les bijoux que je vends à Monte-Carlo sont absolument les mêmes que ceux que je vends à Milan."

À quel âge et comment est née votre passion pour les pierres et métaux précieux ?
"Ma passion pour les bijoux découle de cette culture internationale, ainsi que de la grande passion pour les bijoux de mes grands-mères, qui faisaient concevoir et fabriquer spécialement pour elles de magnifiques bijoux par les plus grands orfèvres napolitains de l'époque. Lorsque mon grand-père paternel voulait offrir un bijou à sa femme, il se rendait chez Starace à Naples, qui, après un certain temps, proposait une série de dessins et d'esquisses parmi lesquels mon grand-père choisissait jusqu'à la réalisation de l'objet fini."

Vous visez certainement la perfection dans la création de vos bijoux. Qu'est-ce qui vous pousse à créer, où trouvez-vous l'inspiration pour réaliser ces petits chefs-d'œuvre ?
"De culture napolitaine, ayant longtemps vécu à l'étranger, et pendant vingt-cinq ans à Rome, une ville très aimée pour sa beauté et la chaleur de ses habitants, c'est là que mon activité a démarré il y a une quinzaine d'années. Puis, presque par hasard, je suis arrivé à Milan. Par amour plutôt que par travail. J'ai vécu à Milan pendant quelques années, faisant des allers-retours entre les deux villes presque chaque semaine. J'ai décidé de m'installer définitivement à Milan à la naissance de mon fils, il y a neuf ans.

Est-il plus probable que les gens recommencent à vouloir et à acheter des objets qui sont beaux, mais plus durables et dont le rapport qualité/usage/prix est meilleur ?
"Eh bien, ma marque, Michela Bruni Reichlin, a toujours proposé des bijoux accessibles qui se concentrent davantage sur le fait d'être donnés et uniques, plutôt que précieux et donc très chers. Ce concept m'a donné raison jusqu'à présent et j'espère qu'il aura encore plus de succès à l'avenir."

Coming from a family of intellectuals and travellers, Michela Bruni Reichlin speaks five languages and has lived in a number of countries. This has made her the woman she is: curious, a lover of beauty and of different cultures, with both Eastern and Western tastes.
"I really have a lot of clients in Monaco, acquired over time, because I have been going to Monte Carlo on holiday for years. I have always organised events at my house, because I have a lovely home in a great location. So for many years I have been organising private events, aperitifs where I invite my Monegasque clients, as well as some Italian clients who are there on holiday. My clients really enjoy these private mini-events. The taste of Monte-Carlo’s women is very similar to that of Milanese women, and the jewellery I sell in Monte-Carlo is exactly the same as the jewellery I sell in Milan."
When and how was your passion for precious stones and metals born?
“It comes directly from the international culture I grew up in, along with the great passion of my grandmothers, who had magnificent pieces designed specially for them by some of the great Neapolitan goldsmiths of the time. My paternal grandfather would go to Starace, who would propose a series of sketches appropriate for the occasion, and my grandfather would select the one he liked best.”
Where do you find the inspiration to create such perfect little masterpieces?
“Neapolitan culture, long periods abroad, 25 years in the beauty and warmth of Rome and her people. I have lived in Milan since my son was born 9 years ago.”

What makes Milan special?
“The city is well organized and is very dynamic. Milan welcomed me with open arms, which is why I learned to love her. Having my home office in Via Monte Napoleone lends a credibility that has contributed to the success of the brand around the world, particularly in the United States.”
What do expect to happen now, in Milan and with your brand?
“Once this difficult moment is behind us, we will have greater need than ever of mental and intellectual distraction, not just small personal gratifications. Clients have realized that high-end jewelry and expensive apparel made for a single season just isn’t good business.”
Do you think that people will continue to desire and acquire beautiful things, but ones that are more sustainable, that will last longer, with a better quality-price-use ratio?
“My brand, Michela Bruni Reichlin, has always offered accessible jewelry, aiming to be satisfying and unique rather than precious and costly. This concept has proven successful so far and I fully expect that it will be even more so as me move forward.”
